Mission City mayors, political representatives and the European Commission gathered at the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Conference to discuss pioneering solutions for a sustainable future.
NEUTRALPATH was among the attendees of this year’s Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Conference, which took place in Brussels on the 26th and 27th of June 2023 and provided a valuable opportunity to engage with high-level representatives at the EU, national and local levels to build on cities’ journeys to climate neutrality.
The first day of the conference fueled exchange and dialogue among city practitioners, including discussions on thematic and policy knowledge and peer-to-peer exchange among Mission Cities. On the second day, the agenda included sessions on the progress of the Cities Mission since its launch and discussions on the opportunities and challenges faced by cities aiming to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.

NEUTRALPATH coordinator Miguel Ángel García Fuentes and other CARTIF team members had the opportunity to take part in the event, showcasing the contribution the project will bring to the Cities Mission and developing synergies between the built environment, energy communities, e-mobility, smart grids, and energy storage.
He commented: “It was great to see how the commitment from the cities is getting materialised through the development of the Climate Contracts and the implementation of the first pilot projects which will pave the way for the cities in this challenge.”
