The event, part of the Community of Practice series, is scheduled to take place on September 5th from 10:00 to 11:30 CET.
The upcoming webinar, titled “Increasing Energy Efficiency through the Development and Installation of Thermal Energy Storage,” will delve into the latest advancements from the ThumbsUp project—a EU-funded initiative focused on revolutionizing thermal energy storage (TES) in buildings. The project has successfully developed compact TES batteries made from bio-based materials, now being tested in real-life demonstration sites across Europe. These advancements are poised to significantly enhance energy efficiency in the built environment, facilitating cleaner heating and cooling technologies.
The Community of Practice is dynamic forum for technology providers, practitioners, professionals, researchers, and stakeholders dedicated to Positive Energy Communities and Districts (PCEDs), energy transition, and climate neutrality. This initiative is closely aligned with the NEUTRALPATH capacity-building program for public authorities, emphasizing knowledge sharing, innovation, collaboration, and policy advocacy.
Thermal energy storage (TES) plays a critical role in energy transition efforts by allowing energy to be stored and used when needed, sometimes even months later. The ThumbsUp project is pioneering high-performance TES solutions that align with the EU’s sustainable economy goals, utilizing bio-based phase change materials derived from the EU food industry’s waste and non-hazardous thermochemical materials.
All project partners and interested parties in PCEDs and climate solutions are invited to join this growing Community of Practice. The forum also welcomes individuals and professionals from other EU projects, initiatives, cities, and the broader EU community working on related areas to participate in this vital exchange.
Don’t miss this chance to learn about the latest advancements in energy efficiency.
