Wednesday 28 October, 11:00–12:30 CET (online)
On 28 October, a NEUTRALPATH webinar turns the spotlight on Zaragoza’s Positive and Clean Energy District (PCED). Together with Dresden, Zaragoza is one of the two lighthouse cities of the project, acting as a frontrunner in implementing a PCED as a core strategy to reach climate neutrality by 2030.
Zaragoza’s district brings together building renovation, renewable energy generation, smart energy management and citizen co-creation through its local climate-neutral lab. The session will present how these elements have been combined during the design and early implementation phases, the challenges encountered so far and the lessons learned, with a view to supporting other European cities on their own energy transition path.
The webinar will explore how Zaragoza’s approach can inspire the fellow cities of the project, Ghent, Istanbul and Vantaa, and be replicated and scaled up across Europe.
What you will gain
- Insights into the design and early implementation of Zaragoza’s PCED
- Practical approaches to combining the technical and social dimensions of energy-positive districts
- Lessons and good practices for replication and upscaling in other cities
- An opportunity to connect with city representatives, policymakers and urban energy experts
The webinar is open to city representatives, urban practitioners and policymakers, as well as experts in energy transition and sustainable urban development.
