NEUTRALPATH has published a new video featuring three fellow cities - Ghent, Vantaa and Istanbul - and their ongoing work to develop Positive and Clean Energy Districts.
In Vantaa, the video focuses on the Aviapolis area, where the city is guiding growth within the existing urban structure while rethinking the local energy system. Planned actions include lower-temperature heating networks, better use of excess heat and heat pump solutions, alongside a broader vision for the district’s long-term development.
The Istanbul segment presents the Gazhane site in Kadıköy, a former industrial area now used as a cultural hub. Within NEUTRALPATH, the site is being used to test clean energy solutions, improve energy performance in nearby buildings and engage the public through visible and interactive interventions.
In Ghent, the spotlight is on the Muide-Meulestede neighbourhood, where the city is testing innovative energy solutions through a strong neighbourhood-based approach. One of the key interventions under study is a small-scale geothermal heating network linked to a local football field, developed with the involvement of residents, housing providers and research partners.
The video offers a concrete look at how the fellow cities are translating NEUTRALPATH objectives into local action and helping to advance the clean energy transition at district level.
