NEUTRALPATH participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, contributing to the joint session “Future-Proofing Cities: Sustainable Innovations for Liveable Urban Spaces” together with ASCEND, oPEN Lab, ARV, IURC, RESPONSE and the MOBILITIES FOR EU project.
The session explored how European initiatives are addressing resilience not only from a technical perspective, but also through financial and social dimensions. Discussions highlighted how projects are increasingly connecting these layers to build more liveable, adaptable and inclusive cities.
Representing NEUTRALPATH, Cecilia Sanz Montalvillo, project coordinator, presented how the project is working to scale from pilot actions to systemic change through Positive and Clean Energy Districts, integrating governance innovation, technology, and citizen participation.
“Achieving climate neutrality isn’t just a technical challenge – it’s a collective and human one. It only happens when we connect technology, policy, and people around a shared vision”, states Cecilia.
The Smart City Expo World Congress served as an important space for NEUTRALPATH to exchange insights with fellow EU projects and to reinforce the value of collaborative, cross-sector approaches in shaping resilient, climate-neutral urban futures.
