NEUTRALPATH joined the Urban Transitions Mission Centre final conference to discuss what comes next for climate-neutral cities
Last Friday 17th, during the European Week of Cities and Regions, the Final Conference of the Urban Transitions Mission Centre (UTMC) took place in Brussels to celebrate achievements and look ahead to the future of sustainable cities. NEUTRALPATH joined the event’s closing panel, “What comes next?” with Stefania Mascolo from EUROCITIES, highlighting the importance of city exchange for validation and standardisation of urban transformation policies and knowledge-transfer through inter-project collaboration at the European and global level.
“Fostering learning exchange and building long-term collaboration among cities, projects and initiatives across Europe and beyond, is the key to ensuring our common efforts toward climate neutrality are meaningful and generate concrete results” commented Mascolo after the event.
The conference showcased results and impacts of UTMC in supporting the Urban Transitions Mission (UTM), part of the global Mission Innovation initiative. Over the years, UTMC has helped cities accelerate the journey towards net-zero emissions and greater resilience by providing practical tools, knowledge exchange, and opportunities for partnership. Beyond celebrating what has been accomplished, the Brussels event was a great opportunity to encourage dialogue among cities, urban initiatives and partner organisations while fostering new alliances for the future challenges of urban transformation.

The Urban Transitions Mission which network features 50 cities worldwide has supported them on their pathway towards climate-resiliency and the net-zero emissions goal by 2030. The final conference offered a unique opportunity to celebrate this strong cooperation and a growing community of partners. To learn more about our network visit urbantransitionsmission.org
