NEUTRALPATH project took part in the recent Cities Mission Conference, bringing the experience and perspective of its partners to the conversation on how to accelerate the transition toward climate neutrality.
The project was represented by Cecilia Sanz Montalvillo (Project Coordinator), Stefania Mascolo (EUROCITIES), and Roeland Keersmaekers from the city of Ghent. The event emphasised the power of collaboration in helping cities reach their climate goals, showcasing how partnerships, citizen involvement, and strategic governance are key. Cities were encouraged to move beyond pilots and scale place-based solutions, supported by adaptable financial tools. The importance of aligning local actions with national support was also highlighted, along with the need to foster inclusive “together governance” that combines bottom-up and top-down approaches.
NEUTRALPATH contributed to several sessions and used the opportunity to both strengthen existing partnerships and explore new collaboration opportunities with other EU-funded projects and initiatives. In one of the sessions, NEUTRALPATH joined ASCEND and Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) for a shared discussion on the development of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs).
Participation in the conference helped position NEUTRALPATH as an active part of the Cities Mission community, contributing to shared learning and joint efforts to build a more sustainable and climate-neutral future.
